Eighteen square metres, one piece of furniture that holds everything.

Renovation of an eighteen-square-metre studio in Levallois-Perret, in a 1970s building. All technical uses concentrated in a single oak entrance unit; in the living room, a desk unit with a movable island.

In a 1970s building in central Levallois-Perret, an eighteen-square-metre studio had to accommodate every use of daily life. The project answers with furniture, not partitions.

One piece of furniture for all the technique.

The entrance is crossed by a large oak unit that runs its full length. Behind its flush doors hide all the technical functions of the studio — fitted kitchen, washing machine, access to the bathroom, bedroom wardrobes. The visitor sees only wood: a single continuous piece of joinery, drawn to the millimetre. The technique disappears into the matter.

Area does not make generosity — the drawing of the furniture does.

A mineral palette, colour elsewhere.

The built-in furniture is in oak; the daybed in the living room is in oiled walnut — a deeper tone, a contemporary signature at the heart of the space. The pale herringbone parquet, kept and restored, links the studio to the Haussmann spirit of the district. The walls are in lightly pigmented Cantera lime: the colour of the studio comes from the framed artworks, the second-hand ceramics, the Berber rug. The interior architecture stays mineral; the décor takes the liberty.
