The living room runs through the plan and the project takes full advantage of it. A full-height sheer curtain crosses the whole facade, so the light arrives diffused and the trees outside stay legible in silhouette.

The ceiling does the work partitions would do elsewhere. It drops in a clean bulkhead over the sofa, lifts again at the centre, and carries two lines: a lit cove that washes the plaster, and a flush black track that distributes the spots.

Storage is held in a single plane. A low console in fluted oak runs the whole length of the wall, lit from beneath; above it, a niche framed in dark stone takes the screen, set flush.

The materials stay at four. Pale oak underfoot and in the joinery, white plaster on the walls, pale stone for the coffee table top, dark brown flecked wool for the sofa and the pouf. The tan leather of the armchair gives the one warm accent.
